Once you put on the “new you”, the “old you” is demolished.
There are moods and feelings that try to occupy this new space. They try hard to control the new you. You might not be consciously aware of the control, however something or someone controls you always.
What kind of thoughts are you entertaining?
Do your thoughts build you up or tear you down to make you feel depressed and sad?
Your thoughts are controlled by two forces-evil and good- each competing for your attention. The time you spend on each force will determine what takes control. If more time is given to the godly thoughts, you will be Spirit-led. If you spend more time on worldly thoughts, you will be led by the world. The quality of the word of God you put into your mind will determine the level of transformation you will experience in life. Your thoughts are being programmed by what you see, what you hear, what you eat, where you go, what you wear… the list is endless. If the world controls your thinking, you will conform to the world. However, if you allow God to control your thinking you will be transformed into a success story.
The things most important to you control your thinking. Whatever you spend most of your time and passion on, controls you.The input into your thoughts determines the outcome you get in life. Click To Tweet
Our perspective on life requires an overhaul. The Bible makes it clear on how to be cautious and resist the control by the world:
Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think, then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NLT).
The promises of the bible are available to you, but you must get your thoughts, behavior and confessions right, to obtain the realities of the Scriptures. Until the Word of God renews your mind, you cannot speak or behave as per the Word. It must first become real in your heart before you can put it into action.
For the word of God to become real to us in our circumstances, we need to put it in our heart by meditating or thinking on the word and saying it continuously. Saying the Word to yourself continuously, has nothing to do with feelings. It is agreeing with the Word of God.
As a good athlete, you must eat good food-the Word-to run this race of life successfully, with a crown of glory at the end.
Your thoughts are the gateway into your life so, guard them diligently! The devil will shoot thoughts into your mind, by making suggestions contrary to the Word of God. These evil thoughts can only be curbed with the word of God.
Your thoughts are the gate to your life. Circumstances will be orchestrated to suggest evil thoughts into your mind. You have a choice to make. You can choose to love or not to love. Not because of what the other person has done or not done, but because the Word of God says “love your neighbor as yourself.” You choose to forgive or not to indulge in lust because you love God, and you want to obey him.
If you are constantly having evil thoughts of lust and adultery, they are in control. Take charge! Change your thinking and your actions. Then, you can change your life. Confront the evil thoughts ravaging your mind. Pull down the strongholds!Choose to be obedient to God and be disobedient to the devil. The blood of Jesus will subdue disobedient thoughts. With hateful thoughts, you are giving another human being control over your life, while they are enjoying. Move on! As a man thinks, so his he. Don’t be moved by your feelings, be moved by the Word. What does the Word say? Forgive!
Here are the 2 simple rules to keeps your thoughts continuously in check:
- If the thought is nasty and your feelings are evil against someone, it cannot be from God. Resolve the issue and move on!
- If the thought is to do good, even if you feel cheated or pained, just do it! The devil will never tell you to do good.
Let the Holy Spirit direct you in all matters and don’t act in flesh. Manifest the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which include love, joy and peace.
According to Romans 12:2, the equation of transforming into the new you is as below:
(a+ b)* c + d = e = Transformed you.
- Don’t copy the behaviour of the world (a)
- Don’t copy the customs of the world (b)
- Do let God transform you into a new person (c)
- By the change of thoughts you allow to come into your life (d)
- You will learn to know God’s will for you, which is to please Him and be perfect (e)
This simple equation will transform you into The New You!
