No More Excuses!

For 38years, a certain man was stuck in the same routine, throwing pity parties and giving excuses of why he was in that situation. One nice, sunny day, this man met Jesus, who stopped his excuses by helping him decide.

Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years.  When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” 7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another step down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”  And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. (John 5:5-8)

Excuses are the cushions that Satan uses to pad mediocrity; they are traps that can easily target you, so reject excuses! Don’t give excuses for the things that are not working in your life, as they stop you from fighting the good fight of faith. Say to yourself: “No more excuses!”

Your rise from obscurity is dependent on you agreeing to drop the weight of excuses. Click To Tweet

God made you a powerful decision maker, but life and the “fall of man” makes us vulnerable. Excuses or indecision, can turn a “doer”- a powerful decision maker, into a mere “wisher”- someone that wishes for good things but never puts action to their wishes. A “doer” puts action to their beliefs.

When you have the will power and decisiveness on the direction you want to take, you become empowered to move in that direction.

There will always be legitimate reasons or excuses to fold your hands. There will always be things that can place a limitation on your achievement. There will be things you cannot do; however, you need to fight the good fight of faith and reject the excuses.

These excuses might sound genuine, but they are false evidences appearing real to you. The excuse of why you cannot accomplish a task, a project or a dream, is a lie that comes from outside of you- the devil suggests it to you, then, waits for you to voice out the suggestions.

Once you voice out the excuses, they send a message to your thoughts that you should be excused. Your mental and physical faculties accept them and you are unable to accomplish your tasks.

Don’t be comfortable with your story. Choose to make progress and find a solution. Click To Tweet

Excuses exempt you from the blessings and grace that God has made available for you. It can also stop you from maximizing the God’s potential in you. When you make excuses, you are limiting and pushing away what God has deposited in you.

“No more excuses!”

Why Do People Give Excuses?

We give excuses when we cannot see the future clearly. Without the vision of what you want to accomplish, you will be stuck. Instead, picture a bright future that will energize your faith. The picture of a better tomorrow will eliminate your excuses and give you a clearer vision. Here is an example of a clear future:

Abraham the father of faith, had just let go of Lot, his nephew, when God appeared to him. Lot chose the good part of the land for himself while Abraham was left with the not so good land. Then God appeared to him and gave a command to “look from the place where you are” not “look at the place where you are.”

Once, Abraham could see clearly beyond his surroundings, there were no more excuses. He went on to inherit the promise land.

We give excuses when we are fixed in a routine. The first thing to do to make progress is to start with a decision. Once we decide to move forward, impossibilities become possibilities.

Don’t attempt to figure out how it will happen, just trust God and take responsibility for your life. Make the decision! Click To Tweet

Decisions are made through thinking, not worrying. People tend to worry instead of think! When you worry, you cannot figure a way out. Worry clogs the flow of decision making. Stop worrying, start thinking.

Unclog your thinking faculties and block your excuses. Click To Tweet

You can do more. No more excuses!
